EMERGENCY OVERVIEW

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Clear, odorless liquid

IMMEDIATE CONCERNS: CAUTION! May cause eye and skin irritation.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS

EYES: No significant effects beyond minor irritation are expected.

SKIN: No significant effects beyond minor irritation are expected.

SKIN ABSORPTION: No evidence of harmful effects from available information.

INGESTION: Gastrointestinal tract irritation and/or discomfort is possible.

INHALATION: No significant effects beyond minor respiratory discomfort is expected.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

EYES: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

SKIN: Wash exposed area with mild soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting. Danger from aspirating into lungs exceeds short term toxic effects. Get immediate medical help.

INHALATION: Fresh air should alleviate any respiratory discomfort. If breathing difficulties develop or persist, get medical attention.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

GENERAL HAZARD: Flammable Liquid, can release vapors that form flammable mixtures at temperatures at or above the flashpoint. "Empty" containers retain product residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be dagerous.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use dry chemical, foam, or carbon dioxide.

HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Oxides of carbon and noxious fumes.

EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Mists or sprays could ignite at temperatures below the indicated flash point. Keep ignition sources, open flames, etc., away from these fumes.

FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Proper respiratory equipment to protect against the hazardous effects of combustion products is recommended. Water in a straight hose stream may cause fire to spread and should be used as a cooling medium only.

FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: Respiratory and eye protection are required for fire fighting personnel. Full protective equipment (Bunker Gear) and self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) should be used for all indoor fires and any significant outdoor fires. For small outdoor fires, which may easily be extinguished with a portable fire extinguisher, use of a SCBA may not be required.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Hazardous gases and vapors produced in fire are oxides of carbon.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

SMALL SPILL:

Extinguish posssible sources of ignition and ventilate spill area. Dike area to contain spill and clean up by absorbing on an inert absorbent or other convenient means. Do not flush into sewers or natural waterways. Non-essential personnel should not enter area due to slipping hazards.

LARGE SPILL:

Contain material as described above and call the local fire or police department for immediate emergency assistance.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Handle in a well ventilated area.

STORAGE:

Store unopened containers under cool, dry and ventilated conditions. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS: If current ventilation practices are not adequate to maintain airborne concentrations below the established exposure guidelines, additional ventilation or exhaust systems may be required. Where explosive mixtures may be present, electrical systems safe for such locations must be used.
